Camp Nurses

Word of Life is a Christian Camp Ministry. We have two locations: upstate New York and Florida with thousands of young people coming annually to our camp facilities. Many of these young people are hearing the Gospel for the first time! For many of them this is their first time at camp as well. With this in mind our Summer Camp Health Center strives to serve campers and staff with excellent, efficient and professional care.

What can be expected: Word of Life is a youth camp; therefore it is an energetic, exciting, and expanding camp with hundreds of opportunities to meet the physical and spiritual needs of campers from around the world! Teamwork, professionalism, caring, fun, spiritually focused and exciting are some of the words desribing the camp and workplace at Word of Life! What will I be doing: Duties include but may not be limited to: Camper and staff assessment, first aid, medication administration, documentation, health record review, rotate on call, daily shift report, and communication with parents, health center coordinator and camp director.

What is required: Word of Life is hiring summer and winter camp seasonal Registered Nurses. Experience and training are essential. Please be prepared to share with us your experience and training records. It is our desire to have health center staff stay for the entire summer, but we do allow for shorter employment status with a two- week minimum. If you are not a New York State Registered Nurse, we will help with the certification paperwork. From January through March we operate Friday through Sunday; June through August we operate 7 days a week.
